 Investigation Update: Gas Leak Determined as Cause of Fire and Explosion in South Jordan Home

South Jordan, Utah – November 7, 2024 – Local fire investigators have determined that a natural gas leak caused the explosion and subsequent 2-alarm fire that tragically claimed the life of a 15-year-old Bingham High School student.

The source of the gas leak remains under investigation, and investigators are working diligently to determine exactly where and how it originated.

Additional investigators will be working at the scene through the weekend and hope to have more information available by early next week.
 
 Updates on the investigation will be released as new information becomes available.
