Shelter in Place lifted
SOUTH JORDAN, UT - October 6, 2024 - At 8:16 pm, the South Jordan Police Department responded to shots fired inside a home in the area of 9570 South and 4800 West, in South Jordan.
While police were responding, a shelter in place was issued for the surrounding area as a safety precaution. Officers on scene made contact with three individuals that had been inside the home during the incident. No one was injured. Officers learned an intoxicated, adult, male had fired a handgun in the home multiple times and was currently alone. Officers were able to contact the male by phone and he peacefully surrendered a short time later. The shelter in place was removed as the scene was turned over to our Investigations Unit. The male was evaluated at the hospital and medically released. He was then taken to jail on multiple charges.
