Getting ready for international travel just got a lot easier for South Jordan residents. Beginning November 12, 2025, the City of South Jordan will officially open its new Passport Office, offering a convenient, local option for passport applications and renewals by appointment.

Residents can now book appointments online through the City’s website at sjc.utah.gov/passports. The site includes all the information travelers need to prepare for their appointment, including required documents, fees, and processing times.

Until now, residents had to travel to West Valley, Herriman, Sandy, Draper, or downtown Salt Lake City to apply for a passport. With the opening of South Jordan’s Passport Office, those long drives and lengthy wait times are no longer necessary.

The new office will operate by appointment only through the end of November, and then it will accept walk-ins.

For now, residents are encouraged to schedule early, especially with the busy holiday travel season approaching.
