SOUTH JORDAN, UT – Residents and interested parties will get a chance to comment on South Jordan’s use of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds and community needs at a public hearing on September 6, 2022.

“This is the public’s chance to bring up needs in their neighborhoods that CDBG funds can help with,” said David Mann, South Jordan’s CDBG administrator. “They will also be able to review how we’ve used funds this past year.”

CDBG funds are typically used by the city to improve access for persons with disabilities. A small portion of funds are also allocated to local non-profits who provide services—such as housing, food, home repairs, and mental health resources—to qualified residents. A full list of providers is available below and at sjc.utah.gov/CDBG.

“If you or a neighbor are in need, please check to see if you qualify for services,” said Mann.

“The City participates in the CDBG program to ensure help is out there for residents.”

The hearing will be hosted in person at South Jordan City Hall and may also be joined virtually via Zoom phone and video conferencing. Instructions for joining the meeting electronically will be posted on the day of the meeting at sjc.utah.gov/meeting-agenda-minutesarchive-center/.

The 2021 Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report be available for public review and comment from Aug. 24, 2022 to Sept. 24, 2022 on the City’s website,

sjc.utah.gov/CDBG; by hard copy at City Hall, the Community Center, and the Public Works Building; and upon request. Funding request applications for the 2023-24 CDBG program year will be available in late October on the City’s website and must be submitted by Jan. 31, 2023. The City will provide reasonable accommodations, including necessary interpretation, translation, and technical assistance, for all timely requests. For all inquiries, contact David Mann at dmann@sjc.utah.gov or 801-254-3742. The hearing impaired may call 7-1-1 to contact TDD Utah Relay.
