[ARCHIVED] Spring Cleanup

springcleanup11

Spring is in the air, and that means it’s time to clean out garages, tidy up yards, and clear away the clutter that built up over winter. The City of South Jordan is making it easy to do just that with its Annual Spring Cleanup, running every Tuesday and Thursday throughout May, plus Saturday, May 10, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at City Park (1850 W 10930 S).

This free community service provides residents a convenient way to dispose of unwanted items without the need to haul them to the landfill. All items are accepted with a few exceptions: no construction waste, tires, or household hazardous waste like paint, fertilizers, batteries, or fluorescent light bulbs. However, E-waste—such as old computers, monitors, and phones—is accepted, making it a great opportunity to get rid of obsolete tech safely.

Please note that unloading assistance will not be provided by staff, so be prepared to unload your items independently. No drop-offs will be accepted after 3:00 p.m., so plan your visit accordingly.

Bonus: Free Shred Event

As part of the cleanup effort, the City is also hosting a Free Confidential Paper Shredding Event on Saturday, May 10, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., also at City Park. This is your chance to securely dispose of sensitive documents like old bank statements, medical records, and tax documents in a safe, environmentally friendly way.

Whether you’re decluttering a home office or tackling that garage that’s been piling up with stuff, South Jordan’s Spring Cleanup is your ticket to a cleaner, more organized space—just in time for summer.

Neighborhood Dumpster Rental

South Jordan residents can rent a 15-yard dumpster for cleanup projects:

  • $40/Day | $80 Weekend/Holiday
  • Accepted: green waste, small debris, appliances (no Freon)
  • Not accepted: tires, rocks, e-waste, hazardous materials

Residential use only. Renters must have the property owner reserve. Reserve online or call 801-446-4357 (HELP).
