FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

January 7, 2025 – South Jordan, UT - The individual that passed away on Saturday, January 3, in an officer involved shooting, has been identified by the Officer Involved Critical Incident (OICI) investigative team as a 17-year-old juvenile male.

The investigative team worked through the weekend to identify the individual and then to notify next of kin.

The investigation is still ongoing. By protocol, once the investigation is complete it will be turned over to the District Attorney’s Office for review.
